Esu uses influences of black metal, grindcore, death metal, hardcore and crust punk, to make the brutal and aggressive, sonic assault that you hear in The Murder Cult’s music.
The Murder Cult isn’t just going out and killing. It’s about murdering the many things that oppress us; religion, money, politics, mental illness, greed, war, etc. Some of the lyrics are about the act of murder, but almost all of them are also about the guilt and emotions from not only the killer, but the victim. Not all the songs are about what the lyrics might lead you to believe, I would like to leave them open for individual interpretation since that is what is most important at the end of the day.
